The Classroom

Our inside space provides a clean and warm area for a wide range of indoor activities including creative and child-led educational learning and play.

We have a pet corner where the children can learn to care for animals.

The School

Little Oaks is an independent charitable setting which successfully shares facilities such as the school hall, yard, field and forest school with Acomb First School.  Little Oaks feeds into Acomb First School and other schools.

Acomb First was established in 1869 and like Little Oaks, is at the centre of community life in Acomb. The school accommodates approx. 50 pupils and 7 teaching staff. Little Oaks has rented a space within Acomb First School since 2002.

The Yards

Our outdoor classroom is essentially an extension of our classroom to provide outdoor learning and activity in a gated area. The school yard is used for bike play and circle time.

Forest and Field

The wooded area to the rear of the setting provides an area to allow children the time and space to develop skills, interest and understanding through a range of activities which provide practical, hands-on experiences in a natural environment.

Our enclosed school field includes wild area, pond, orchard, hammocks, log cabin, sports field and play area for outdoor learning and play in a beautiful setting with fantastic views providing opportunity to learn about wildlife and the outdoors.
