Fundraising at Little Oaks
Little Oaks is a charitable organisation and as such we rely on fundraising to maintain our outstanding services.
Some of our fundraising initiatives are outlined here:

Sponsoring snacks
Snacks are provided to all our children each session at a cost of 20p per session. Some families may find this cost unaffordable so we offer the opportunity for the community to sponsor snacks for the children as follows:
1 month supply of snacks £8.50
Half Term supply of snacks £12.50
Full Term supply of snacks £24.50
Tesco Community Grants Scheme
You may be interested in another opportunity to support Little Oaks in the coming weeks as we have been accepted by the Tesco Community Grants Scheme as a charity providing breakfast club and after school tea clubs including a well-balanced meal to children ages 2 and up in our local community. Voting will commence in store at Hexham (as well as Amble) from Friday 1st July through to 30th September. Please support us and vote using the blue counters available at the tills.
Fundraising Events
Little Oaks Nursery and Acomb First School PTA joint Summer Fair
We were delighted to host our annual summer fair this June for the first time since 2019, with a wide range of stalls, activities and food. We wanted to extend a heartfelt thanks to our wonderful community, to all those who supported the Acomb First School and Little Oaks Nursery Summer Fair on Saturday. We had an exceptional turnout and were overwhelmed with generosity. Thank you to every family who came along on the day and to all those who made donations of prizes, stall items, baked goods or gave time to volunteer with the event. We exceeded all expectations and raised £2,137.68, which will go directly to help Little Oaks and Acomb First School continue to provide excellent childcare and education for our community. Special thanks to Newcastle Building Society, Hexham Branch for supporting our event and for donating our first prize raffle luxury hamper.
Annual Christmas Shopping Evening
Held annually at the end of November/ Early December in Acomb Village Hall. Wide variety of stalls with local sellers and of course, Little Oaks very own homemade Christmas Decorations stall.
Team Little Oaks Challenge
Over the summer and autumn we will be undertaking a range of challenges to raise money for the nursery. Fundraising for Little Oaks enables the nursery to make high quality childcare as accessible as possible to the Acomb and wider Tynedale community. We believe every child deserves the best possible start to their education.

Our Summer Fair Bike Challenge on 25 June is to launch Team Little Oaks, a fundraising campaign powered by staff, trustees and parents of Little Oaks Nursery, Acomb CIO. Trustees, Aly and Sam stepped up their Great North Run training at the summer fair by riding an exercise bike for the duration of the event. Fair goers were asked to guess the miles they collectively clock up for a donation, the closest guess won a prize.
Nursery Manager Catherine Fergus will be doing 20 X 5km walks this July. Starting and finishing in Orkney, Catherine will be walking at least 100km to raise funds for our Team Little Oaks campaign!
